Neighbourhood Details
The main city of the Outaouais is Gatineau, situated on the Laurentian Mountains which are also known as the Gatineau Hills. The city has plenty of parks with recreational facilities as well as open greenspaces merging into the surrounding woods. Jacques Cartier Park is the site of the popular Winterlude Festival held each February.
Gatineau has two university campuses as well as a wide variety of elementary, middle and high schools. Two provincial junior colleges, the Francophone CEGEP de l‘Outaouais and the Anglophone Heritage College are also located in Gatineau.
