Golden Triangle is the name for the Ottawa neighbourhood that lies between Elgin Street and the Rideau Canal, and Laurier Avenue and the Queensway. Its name comes from the shape of the neighbourhood, coming to a point when the Rideau Canal and Elgin Street meet. The main street of the Golden Triangle is Elgin Street, home to stores, boutiques, and galleries, while surrounded by eating establishments, cafes, bars, and nightclubs.

Getting Around the Golden Triangle
Public transit travels the length of Elgin Street, with connections to every corner of the city. There are three main OC Transpo bus routes that service the Golden Triangle neighbourhood: routes 5, 6, and 14. In addition, there are main OC Transpo transit stations and transfer points at both the Rideau Centre and MacKenzie King Bridge - a short walk from anywhere in the Triangle. The recent addition of a pedestrian walkway provides direct access to the University of Ottawa.
Golden Triangle Activities
For those living in the area, one of the biggest attractions is the Rideau Canal. Here, you can walk, bike, and skate during the winter. With walking and bike paths and benches, the Canal is a great place to hangout, get exercise, and meet other members of the community. In close proximity, you will also find Elgin Street, the National Arts Centre, and the Rideau Centre. You can walk home from the Jazz Festival, Winterlude, or Canada Day festivities. This small neighbourhood offers great schools, several parks, and a community centre complete with a pool and tennis courts.
